A BAFTA nomination!






Alan has been nominated for a BAFTA for best Entertainment Performance for Chatty Man. He's up against Dara O'Briain (Mock the Week), Harry Hill (Harry Hill's TV Burp) and Graham Norton (The Graham Norton Show).

The full list of nominees are here on BAFTA's website.

We'll be biting our fingernails till 27 May when the awards are announced... Fingers crossed everyone!

"The first time you come across Alan Carr, you notice one thing. He's screamingly camp. Imagine the love child of Kenneth Williams and Frankie Howerd, and you might get close.  He says he's never come out – there's never been any need to. Gay activists have even accused him of being too gay; of giving homosexuals a bad name. 


The funny thing is, he says, he's spent so much of his life trying to de-camp himself. He'd try to play football or deepen his voice, but there was always a little something that gave him away – the obsession with Wonder Woman, the laugh, the limp wrist, the love of Doris Day films, the attraction to Rock Hudson..."

Alan and Melanie Sykes raise £175,000 for charity on The Million £ Drop!

Big congrats to Alan and Melanie Sykes who won a whopping £175,000 for charity tonight on The Million Pound Drop!

The money will go to The British Wildlife Rescue Centre (Alan's chosen charity) which "cares for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife which is often brought in by members of the public and the RSPCA"; and to Hearts and Minds (Mel's chosen charity) which supports "families touched by Autism in the UK & Ireland".

Alan Carr is awarded Best TV Personality by TRIC (Television and Radio Industries Club). Alan was nominated alongside Graham Norton and Ant and Dec.

Alan said on Twitter: "Wow! Just won a TRIC award for Best TV Personality plus was given the award by the lovely @MsMelanieSykes #deadchuffed"
